Flexible High Resolution Display By Plastic Logic
Plastic Logic leading developer of plastic electronics has launched high resolution flexible active-matrix display at Plastic Electronics 2006, but that s just the start, as they ll according to the official site they will also produce the flexible active-matrix display modules in large scale and will build the first factory to manufacture first electronic reader products.
New Technology Used through a process enable to the display to be flexible, thin (0.4mm), and with an high resolution ap to 600 x 800 pixel, rendering the plastic easier to handle and rolled like the paper. The displays also features 10″ diagonal SVGA with 100ppi resolution and 4 levels of greyscale.
The fabrication of electronic devices such as thin film transistors (TFTs) using semiconducting polymer materials. These materials can be deposited from a solution allowing the devices to be printed. Polymer materials are also fundamentally flexible.
“Rob Broggi, Vice President and Director of Technology, Media and Telecommunications Equity Research at Tudor, added “This investment meets our objective to find and participate in the most exciting investment opportunities globally, particularly in mobile and nanotechnology sectors.”
“Hermann Hauser, Director of Amadeus commented “Having backed Plastic Logic from day one, I am delighted that the first full commercialization of plastic electronics is now firmly in our sights. With this investment we are not only scaling up a great company - we are also creating a new electronics industry that will become a significant addition to silicon.”
To be honest, we re not what to expect after this, but knowing Plastic Logic, much news will arrive soon.
