Download an Audio Book From Your Hard Drive To A Non-iPod Media Player – Step By Step Instructions

Now, if you have a media player other than an iPod and have been wondering how you could ever download an audio book that you have on your hard disk to the device, then this is open article that you might want to read every word of.

To start with, you might want to check to see if DRM ( digital rights management ) licensing is still in effect. To do this, just open the first file of the audio book from your computer – the one onto which you have already downloaded the book. When click on the file to open it, you should see a dialog box appear on your screen asking for your password and user name. Just enter the details and you will be all set to copy the file onto the portable media player.

Before we proceed any further, you may want to note that if your media player cannot handle digital rights management (DRM) licensed files, then you may not be able to use the file on your media player even if you do copy it onto it.

That said, most media players these days are capable of handling DRM licensed files and you possibly do not have to worry about it anyway.

Now we are ready to begin copying the files !

To copy the files, you might want to use the Windows Media Player or the software that came with your portable media player.

In case you are using the Windows Media Player, then things could not be any simpler – all you do is open the Windows Media Player, get the audio files listed in the title window, select them and move them to the Sync list column. Just wait for the message Ready To Synchronise” appear, and then click on the Start Synch button. And that s all there is to it !

Note : If your current version of Windows Media Player is not able to play DRM licensed files, then you want to install the Windows Media Security Upgrade and then just repeat the above process.
