The number of applications for Artificial Intelligence is a pretty long list. And any one writing a book on this subject ought to realize that. Indeed, I have read a few and am writing one now actually. Anyway, there will be Artificial Intelligent computers running swarms of surveillance UAVs in the battle space and keeping track of all of them.
There will be AI software on each drone and the net-centric main system as well. And as a result these unmanned aerial units can carry out their “seek and destroy,” target identification, and fire missions. Similarly artificial intelligent computers will mimic such tactics in corporations as well using these tactics and marketing exploits in allocating resources and making a profit. This will make the AI computer such a valuable tool at some point folks will fire the CEO and use the computer itself.
Thus no knowledge workers will be needed. I do hear many complaining on the Leadership issues of today of over pay for CEOs and yet soon they will not be needed. Just like robots are replacing manufacturing workers, so too will they replace the CEOs. I agree with the Carnegie Scenarios on the future of AI.
We must still watch our AI computers and robots and I also agree that we have to maintain control over them, but at some point we will heavily rely on them and trust them more than our own intuitive judgment to win in battle, business, politics, etc. I see this as a huge issue of course.
For instance when does the computerized machine government get so big it no longer needs the people? We know this can happen with human run governments, well the same can occur with AI, when does IT get so encompassing that the humans are bothersome and disruptive to the system and causing all the problems with its perfection – issues and philosophy of course.
